Gift Card Vendors in Ghana and Nigeria: What $100 Pays

Nov 5, 2026, 02:55 PM | 5 views

On 5 November 2026 a $100 Apple card pays ₦113,104 in Nigeria and ₵982.02 in Ghana on the rate board at giftcashng.com. The same $100 in Applebee's cards pays ₦22,890 and ₵198.74. If you sell gift cards online, that gap decides more than timing does. Below is what a gift card vendor in Ghana and Nigeria pays for ten common cards, why identical face values get different prices, and how to check a buyer before you send a code.

What a gift card vendor actually does

A gift card vendor is the business that buys your card and pays you in local currency. You hold the code. The vendor prices it off a published board. The money reaches your wallet or bank account after the code clears.

We are one of those buyers, so the numbers below come off our own board and not from an estimate. Rates are printed as a naira or cedi amount for a face-value band, never as a percentage. The Nigeria view also carries a reference line: 1 USD = ₦1,346 on 5 November. The Ghana view doesn't publish one, so cedis totals have to be compared card by card.

What gift card buyers in Ghana and Nigeria pay for $100

The table uses the $100 face value on purpose. Ten cards quote it, which makes it the cleanest size to compare across brands. Nigeria and Ghana are read from separate views of the same board, captured at 22:39 and 22:45.

Where $100 is the first value in a band, the table shows the printed amount. That covers Apple, Sephora, Amazon, Target and eBay. For Steam, Xbox, Google Play and Starbucks the $100 figure is derived from the band's upper end: top payout divided by top face value, multiplied by 100.

The spread is wide. A $100 Apple card fetches ₦90,214.00 more than a $100 Applebee's card in Nigeria. In cedis the gap is ₵783.28. Same face value, same day, same buyer.

Why the same card gets two different prices

Band boundaries are the reason. Most cards have one band per currency. A few carry two or three, and each band has its own per-dollar rate.

Starbucks splits at $50. A $50 card is quoted on the $50 to $500 band, which starts at ₦28,810.00 and ₵250.14. The lower $10 to $50 band tops out at ₦24,008.00 for that same $50, so the band you land on is worth ₦4,802.00.

Best Buy runs three dollar bands, and the highest one pays best. A $100 card fetches ₦74,056.00. A $200 card fetches ₦195,906.00, because $200 is where the $200 to $500 band starts. Two $100 cards bring ₦148,112.00, which is ₦47,794.00 less than one $200 card.

Apple climbs more gently. $50 fetches ₦55,205.00, $100 fetches ₦113,104.00, and $200 works out at ₦228,092.80. Per dollar that's ₦1,104.10, then ₦1,131.04, then ₦1,140.46, so trading up helps, just not by much.

Some cards quote only at the top. Adidas appears with a single £200 to £500 band, so a £100 Adidas card has no quote at all. Arcteryx starts at $500. If your card sits below a band's floor, a serious vendor will say so instead of inventing a number.

How do you check a vendor before you send a card?

Five checks take about ten minutes and settle most of the risk.

  1. Read the printed band, not a headline rate. A number without a face-value range tells you nothing.
  2. Divide the top payout by the top face value. That gives the per-dollar rate you can compare across cards.
  3. Ask which band your card falls in, especially at $50, $100 and $200 where bands collide.
  4. Confirm the payout route and the clock before you send the code. Fast payment means 15 to 30 minutes after verification, not before it.
  5. Keep the ticket number. A vendor that can't give you one isn't tracking your card.

How fast is verification when you sell online?

Verification is the step where the code is checked for balance and prior use. Fast verification matters because a code in limbo is a code you can't spend. The check runs before any payout, and the payout runs 15 to 30 minutes after verification, not from the moment you paste the code.

The route depends on where you are. In Lagos and Abuja the payout goes to a Nigerian bank account. In Accra and Kumasi it goes to mobile money such as MTN MoMo. A bank transfer sent late in the day can land in the next window, so ask before you send if the timing matters.

FAQ

How much does a gift card vendor pay?

A $100 Apple card pays ₦113,104.00 in Nigeria and ₵982.02 in Ghana on 5 November 2026. The same face value in Applebee's pays ₦22,890.00 and ₵198.74, so the card type sets the price before anything else does.

Which cards pay the most per $100 right now?

offgamers and Wunschgutschein top the USD group at ₦115,238.80 per $100 on the 5 November board. Applebee's sits at the bottom at ₦22,890.00. The full ladder is on our rates page, which shows the band printed for today.

Do I need to hand over the physical card?

No. Buyers want the code, the receipt and the face value. Cards bought in a store or online both work as long as the code is unused and the balance matches.

Can I sell a partly used card?

Not on this board. Bands are priced against full face value, so a card with $37 left on a $50 balance has no band to sit in and gets refused.

Sell gift cards online with GiftCash NG: check the band on the rates page, send the code, and get fast payment within 15 to 30 minutes after verification. Payouts go to a Nigerian bank account in Lagos and Abuja, and to MoMo in Accra and Kumasi. Start with the Apple card page, the Best Buy page or the Starbucks page if your card is one of those.
