Sell a PlayStation Gift Card: Today's Naira and Cedis Rates

A PlayStation card pays ₦798.77 per dollar in Nigeria and ₵6.97 per dollar in Ghana, both read from the live rate table on 5 October 2026. That puts a $100 card at ₦79,876.80 and a $200 card at ₦159,753.60. Payout lands in 15 to 30 minutes once an order is confirmed.

What a PlayStation card actually holds

A PlayStation gift card, still sold and traded as a PSN card, tops up a PlayStation Network wallet. Redeem it and the balance covers:

• Games and pre-orders from the PlayStation Store
• A PlayStation Plus subscription
• Downloadable content and in-game items
• Movies and TV shows bought through the store

The balance is locked to the region the card was issued in and to a PlayStation account. That's why it's worth real money to a buyer who games on PlayStation, and why the rate sits where it does. It isn't a general-purpose balance like an Apple card, which travels further and prices higher.

A US card picked up at a game shop in Lagos or Accra is the common case, and it's the one the printed table prices. A pound or euro card sent by a relative abroad is the other case. That one runs through a quote instead, because it isn't on the list.

The published rate, and what every face value pays

PlayStation carries one printed band on the GiftCash NG rate table, running from $10 to $500:

Divide the top endpoint by the top face value and you land on the same figure as the floor, to within a few kobo, so PlayStation is priced as a straight line. The naira and cedi columns come from two separate country views, so they aren't conversions of one another. Only the naira view prints an official reference line, and on 5 October it read 1 USD = ₦1,331. PlayStation pays about 60 percent of that line.

That gap is the resale spread, not a fee. Nothing gets deducted at checkout. On the same table that day, the strongest dollar row paid ₦1,127.59 per dollar and the weakest paid ₦457.96, so the dollar rows run from about 85 percent of the reference line down to roughly 34 percent. A game card sitting at 60 percent is mid-market, and PlayStation is one of the quicker cards to verify because the whole balance sits in a single PlayStation account. The code either carries the stated value or it doesn't, which is why the payout window is short.

Because the band is linear, you can work out any amount inside it. These are straight multiples of the per-dollar figures above:

The floor is published directly: a $10 card pays ₦7,988 in Nigeria and ₵69.70 in Ghana. A $500 card pays ₦399,384 or ₵3,485.20.

PlayStation next to the other gaming cards

Per-dollar figures only mean something next to the rest of the shelf. Same snapshot, same day:

PlayStation lands in the middle of that group. At a $200 face value it pays ₦159,753.60, against ₦165,078.80 for Steam and ₦91,592.00 for Xbox. The gap to Xbox is the wide one: PlayStation pays about 74 percent more per dollar, which is ₦68,161.60 in your favour on a $200 card.

The order holds on the cedi view, where Razer Gold leads at ₵9.18 and Xbox trails at ₵4.00. Razer Gold pays about 32 percent more per dollar than PlayStation, so if you hold both, that card goes first.

One detail worth knowing: Razer's band opens at $5, the lowest entry point on the whole table. PlayStation's opens at $10, and Google Play opens at $50.

What moves a PlayStation rate, and what doesn't

Denomination. It doesn't move. A $500 card and a $10 card carry the same ₦798.77 per dollar. There's no size premium here, unlike Apple, where the $150 to $500 band pays about 3 percent more per dollar than the $40 to $50 band.

Currency of issue. The printed table prices dollar PlayStation cards. A UK pound or euro PlayStation card isn't on the list, so it gets quoted per order instead of read off the table.

Card or code. Both are accepted. The difference shows up on the verification side, and support confirms the timing for your case. Keep the receipt if you have one, since it settles any question about where the card came from.

The day. Rates refresh, so read the table on the morning you sell instead of working from a number you remember. This figure is steady, though. It moved from ₦798.41 on 23 September to ₦798.77 on 5 October, less than one naira per dollar.

Where not to sell a PlayStation card

Codes walk off in the same four ways every week here:

• A stranger offering above market. No licensed buyer needs to beat a published rate to win your card.
• Anyone asking for a fee first. Activation fees, release fees and verification deposits don't exist on a real sale.
• Anyone who wants the code before agreeing a rate. A redeemed code can't be pulled back, so the rate comes first, in writing.
• Pages you can't check. If the only contact is a DM handle, you have no recourse when the balance disappears.

How to sell a PlayStation card, step by step

1. Confirm the region. A US dollar card is the one on the printed table; any other region gets quoted per order.
2. Check the balance. A partly used card gets rejected, so read the full amount before you submit.
3. Read today's rate. Open the rate table and find the PlayStation row.
4. Submit the order. Register, pick PlayStation from the card list, and enter the code.
5. Take the payout. MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash and bank transfer all work; the published window is 15 to 30 minutes after verification.
